Perrine Labussière
After a double training in style and textile design, I worked for six years in an art craft workshop in Paris. I have been living in the Dordogne for two years now, and the game of encounters has guided my steps on the path of art bookbinding.
Often impossible to name. I remove myself from the desire to represent reality, so that only the essence of my feelings remains in my pictorial choices.
For me, creativity must avoid compartmentalization. My approach to abstraction is in perpetual evolution, each series a research project.
Step by step, each work is built up over time, layer upon layer. A discussion is created between the different planes, each plane attempting to freeze an ephemeral state, each unfinished stratum completing itself in a whole. The result is a fragile balance, both visual and necessarily emotional.
Ultimately, my works have an existence of their own, which escapes me, and which is constructed in parallel with a conscious will.
