The Meulières Trail offers you the whole history of the "Peyriers" and the people of Arkose who lived in harmony with nature. On this 2km800 route, numerous interpretation panels will help you discover the evolution of the Chemin des Meulières.
A very long time ago, there lived on the Coline some amazing beings. Small and ungainly, they were endowed with a spectacular strength and know-how, they knew how to cut the rock into blocks or dig into caves in which they took refuge in the cold. The plateaus and woods around you hide an unusual history. Without it, there would have been no bread in our lives. A story that stretches over several thousand years: the extraction of millstones to grind grains. This original industry has left behind it a labyrinth of quarries strewn with stone monsters, some Roman, others from yesterday. Discover these millstones and rediscover the forgotten memory of the quarry people.
